Instawalls and photo prints are printed in the Adobe SRGB (for posters) and Adobe RGB 1998 (for aluminium, plexiglass and glass) colour profiles. In doubt about the right colour profile for your photos? Then feel free to contact us.
Please note that photographers sometimes supply photos with the Pro Photo colour profile. If we convert this colour profile to our settings, the colours may differ.

Photos taken with a camera or phone are often of sufficient quality. At Instawall, we look at a photo's pixel count to determine its quality. Photos for a “small” box in an Instawall should be at least 640x640 pixels. You will automatically be notified by us if the resolution of the photo used is too low.

Low-resolution photos will not be printed sharply. We therefore recommend replacing low-resolution photos with other photos. Would you still like to keep the photo in your design, for example because the photo is very valuable to you? Of course you can. Just count on the print quality of the photo being less sharp than what you are used to from Instawall.

You certainly can! As a logged-in user, you can save your Instawall project online. To do this, create an account and click the “save” button in the tool. No need to download a programme to your computer, everything is easy online.

An Instawall project and the photos uploaded in it will remain stored in your account for one month. Please note: the photos are linked to an Instawall project. If you want to create another size Instawall, you need to upload the photos again. If you have ordered the photo project, the photos will not be visible in your account afterwards.

Are you working on your Instawall for more than a month and haven't saved it in the meantime? Then our system is forced to delete the photos. Because of our privacy guidelines, photos are not stored for more than a month. Was your project created less than a month ago and your photos were still deleted? Then it may help to log in and out again, or use a different internet browser. Please note, the photos are linked to an Instawall project. If you want to create another size Instawall, you will have to upload the photos again.

A printed Instawall or photo enlargement cannot be modified after it has gone into production.

The perfect Instawall starts with the right size. Because no matter how beautiful your photo is - if the size isn't right, it won't come into its own. Too small and it disappears, too big and it dominates. Time for balance!

Our golden rules:

Above your sofa

Use the 2/3 rule: your Instawall should be about two-thirds the width of your sofa. So do you have a 180cm sofa? Then go for an Instawall about 120 cm wide. And hang it at eye level, with 20-25 cm of space above your sofa.

Above your bed

Same rule, different mood. Choose a size that is two thirds of your bed width and hang it about 20-25 cm above the headboard. Peace and quiet in your bedroom? Think landscapes or abstract work.

In the hall

Small wall? Choose a vertical Instawall. Hang it about 145 cm from the floor to the centre of your decoration. Using several small Instawalls? Then keep 5-15 cm between them for a clean look.

Above a sideboard or table

Also: no wider than the piece of furniture. Guideline? About two thirds of the width of the furniture. And hang it 10-30 cm above it for that “wow” effect.
